We all know of the concept of self care, but what does it really mean and why is it so important?
This week I offer my definition of self-care and simple exercises you can do to achieve it.

My name is Carl Brooks and welcome to another episode of Coach Carl: “Love who you are and do what you love.”
Now this week’s episode is about self-care, which is the ability to prepare you mind and body to let your authentic self shine through.
Self-care has three aspects.
The first one is psychology:
- The ability to lift yourself up and make yourself feel good.
- It also encompasses the ability to give yourself permission to do something.
- And also the ability to embrace gratitude as a way of being.
The second aspect is physiology – so the ability to increase your vitality.
- Am I rested?
- Am I hydrated?
- Am I well nourished?
The third aspect is presence – the ability to be centered in your mission and what you stand for.
For example: my mission is to help other people love who are and do what they love.
And that brings me to this week’s challenge.
